Dealership History

Patterson Motors has a long and rich history with Chrysler in Wallaceburg.  Gordon "Pat" Patterson opened the doors of Pat's Garage, an independent vehicle repair facility in 1921.  In 1923, Pat relocated to 603 James Street (the current location of Westbrook's Flower Shop) a former livery stable and added Maxwell and Chalmers franchises - A company purchased by Walter P. Chrysler shortly thereafter.

After completing renovations in 1928, Pat and the team continued to conduct business selling and servicing Chrysler products from this location for 46 years.

After serving in WW II with the Royal Canadian Navy, Pat's son S.G. returned to Wallaceburg, joining the Dealership as the second Generation in 1945.  In 1968 new facilities at 51 McNaughton Ave were completed, and the operation moved to the current location.

In 1972, S.G.'s son Dave joined the Dealership full time representing the third generation.  The team at Patterson Motors continues to sell and service Chrysler vehicles from this location, with a major addition occurring in 2001.

In 2004, Dave's daughter Melissa joined the Dealership representing the 4th Generation.  After 95 years, the Patterson Family are honoured to hold the designation of being Canada's oldest Chrysler Dealer.  Over the years, the Dealership has been awarded many Sales and Service Excellence awards, Customer Satisfaction Awards, as well as Chrysler's coveted Five Star designation.  The team at Patterson Motors is grateful to the Community of Wallaceburg for their continued support and look forward to continuing to serve for many years to come.
